Participation Rules
Napier is 150 years old this year andthere are a number of events planned to celebrate this milestone. The TaradaleBusiness Association is organising a Taste of Taradale community Cultūra Festto take place on the 27th of July. This competition is partof this winter fest and the fashion show will be part of the event on Saturdaythe 27th of July 2024.
Show Brief:
A show case of Napier wedding dresses through the decades. Show off your own, your mum’s, your grand ma’s wedding dress. The closer to the bustle era time or theme, the better. We are hoping to be able to identify the oldest wedding dress ever worn in Napier.
The Rotary hall (part of the Taradale hall will be used as a dressing room and will be open from 8:00am on event day. The participants should be ready to show off dresses from 12:30pm in Taradale hall on Saturday the 27thof July 2024.
Competition Rules:
1.
Anyone who thinks they may have a special wedding dress that should be show cased are are eligible to enter.
2.
The organisers reserve the right to include or exclude entries depending on the number received and being relevant to the theme.
3.
Each entrant should have permission from the wedding dress owner or current guardian to show case a dress.
4.
Entrants should register their intention to enter the show by the 21stof June 2024 no later than 5pm.
5.
Participants must have an A4-size name card displayed when participating in the show. This should include the following text: a) Name or original owner (large font), b) Date dress was worn (large font), c) ‘Napier Nuptials Fashion Show 2024 presented by The Taradale Business Association’ (small font).
6.
Participants must not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, colour, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation.
7.
Participating wedding dresses may strictly not be shared with anyone prior to event day on the 27th of July 2024.
